The secure, X-shaped base is made from durable tubular steel that has a black, powder-coated finish. Powder coating provides an attractive, uniform finish that offers excellent resistance to corrosion, heat, impact, chipping and fading. Powder coating is made of pigments, specialized resins and fillers that melt and fuse together during the curing process to form a highly resistant painted finish. It is frequently used for the manufacturing of outdoor tables, chairs and other items that will be exposed to the sun, heat, rain and other elements.
