Echinodorus Rose

Echinodorus Rose is a lovely hybrid between two well-known aquatic sword plants, Echinodorus Horemanii Red and Echinodorus Horizontalis. Growing to heights of around 7-12 inches, Echinodorus Rose is on the smaller side of the usual Echinodorus family, but don’t let its smaller size fool you! This aquatic plant is characterized by beautifully ranging hues of greens, reds, and bronzes. Newly sprouted leaves appear pink and will fade out into a deeper hue once mature. Like most aquatic swords, Echinodorus Rose should be planted in a quality aquarium soil as Echinodorus species absorb a majority of their nutrients through their roots. Other than providing a nutritious bottom, Echinodorus Rose is a great beginner aquatic plant as these aquatic plants are undemanding, hardy and will adapt to a wide range of aquarium tank parameters. 

While this aquatic sword is on the smaller side, this aquatic plant will still grow larger than most, making it a good background aquatic plant in nano aquarium tanks or as a midground-background in larger planted aquarium tanks. No matter the choice, Echinodorus Rose will still require periodic pruning to ensure that it does not shade the rest of the aquatic plants within the aquarium tank. Propagation is simple as well. Gently separate the plant and replant the divided portions into a quality aquarium substrate.
