Our Complete XL Specialty Grass Loving Mushroom Kit has all the essentials for growing specific mushroom varieties that require a specialized substrate and casing. Inspired by the Gordo Tek method, this kit is ideal for species typically found in warm grasslands that require extreme fresh air exchange and elevated fruiting temperatures.

Everything in this XL kit is sterilized and ready to use, from our 5-grain spawn jars to our pasture-fed manure-based substrate and specialty casing mix. Whether you're an advanced grower or a passionate hobbyist, this kit is designed to simplify the process while meeting the environmental demands of more sensitive species.

Included in the Kit:

•     (2) Low-Profile Sterilite 41 Quart Totes (29"x18"x6") – maximize surface area
•     Grower’s Select Smart Digital Aquarium Heater – safe for plastic totes, adjustable temp
•     (3) 32oz 5-Grain Jars – fully sterilized and quick to colonize
•     9 lbs Grass Lover’s Horse Manure-Based Substrate – pasteurized and vacuum sealed (3 x 3lb bags)
•     5 lbs Sphagnum Peat Moss and Vermiculite Casing Mix – pH adjusted and sterilized
•     36" Digital Probe Thermometer – for accurate substrate-level readings
•     Screen and Clamp Kit – allows for indirect misting and maximum air exchange

Everything has been carefully selected to mimic natural growing environments for these unique species. The bottom tub holds water, and the top tote floats, allowing full control of the temperature using the included aquarium heater. The casing layer arrives in a unicorn spawn bag—just add water, sterilize, and apply.

Setup Overview:
Inoculate the 5-grain jars with your preferred grass-loving strain. Once colonized, break up the spawn and mix with the manure-based substrate in the top tote. Heat water in the bottom tub and maintain a temperature of 79–81°F with the included heater. Add a 1.5” layer of casing mix on top, attach the screen cover, and mist as needed.
